Birute Brandt is a Lithuanian born artist whose work explores the tension between the constructed self and the essential self between outward identity and inner consciousness. Through a distinctive language of aesthetic surrealism, she depicts elongated, androgynous figures suspended in minimal, dreamlike spaces, balancing performance and authenticity, control and surrender. Her work engages quiet psychological arenas, revealing the delicate equilibrium that shapes human awareness.
Working primarily in acrylic and watercolor, Brandt’s practice evolved from calligraphic fashion illustrations into a compelling visual language that is both conceptually profound and visually striking. Born into a family of artists, she studied at the M. K. Čiurlionis Art School in Vilnius and earned a degree in Fashion Design from the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin.
Brandt has exhibited internationally in Europe and the Middle East, including solo exhibitions in Dubai and presentations at the International Contemporary Art Fair in Luxembourg. Her work has been widely recognized by collectors and curators, establishing her as a distinctive and influential voice in contemporary figurative painting with a trajectory toward a significant international presence.
